About the Project
Cross Fraser Partnership (CFP) is a Bouygues Construction Canada Inc., Fomento de Construcciones y Contratas Canada Ltd., Pomerleau BC Inc. and Arcadis Canada Inc. general partnership that has been selected to collaboratively deliver a new, eight-lane immersed tube tunnel that will replace the existing George Massey Tunnel on Highway 99. The new tunnel will have three vehicle lanes and a dedicated transit lane in each direction, with a separated active transportation corridor for cyclists and pedestrians.
Position Overview:
This role will be responsible for managing the project Geotechnical Consultants in the performance of their duties to provide information for the completion of the Civil and Structural designs for the project. This role involves specification of and supervision of Geotechnical Site Investigations, sampling, testing along with carrying out specific site trials for ground improvements and constructions methods. The role includes, developing geotechnical engineering solutions, specification of instrumentation and monitoring and providing expert advice to support project design and construction.
Key Responsibilities
· Actively participate in the development of work methods and sequences, helping to ensure efficient and safe execution of the works.
· Perform calculations and detailed analyses for various geotechnical temporary structures such as retaining walls, temporary piles, and earthworks, ensuring the reliability and robustness of technical solutions.
· Coordinate closely with modelers and technicians to develop accurate geotechnical models and plans for the project incorporating best practices and current technical standards.
· Collaborate with subcontractors and specialized experts and play a critical role in the constructive evaluation of external geotechnical designs to optimize proposed solutions in line with project requirements.
· Provide essential technical support to the construction team, ensuring compliant installation and rigorous application of established methods.
· Ensure compliance of specific works through regular checks, guaranteeing the quality and safety of geotechnical structures.
· Act as a credible and influential technical reference for the various stakeholders, ensuring clear and effective communication on the technical aspects of projects.
· Contribute to the ongoing development and improvement of specifications , introducing innovative solutions and best practices to optimize processes.
Education and qualifications:
· Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering, or related field.
· 7+ years of relevant work experience designing and constructing temporary structures.
· Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) license or eligibility to obtain one within Canada.
· Experience with seismic design and potential liquefaction would be an advantage
· Strong experience working in Advance Design or other finite element software.

The expected salary range for this opportunity is $90,000 – $120,000. Please note that salaries may vary depending on the candidate’s experience and geographical location.
